У ребёнка зуб болел и перестал — что делать | БЭБИ ДЕНТ

Your child’s toothache has stopped but the tooth may still need care
Pain relief does not always mean that a dental problem has resolved. A tooth can stop hurting after a trigger is removed, but pain may also fade while an infection continues. A dental assessment is needed to understand what happened.
Why a toothache may come and go
Food trapped between teeth can irritate the gum. Gentle cleaning may relieve the discomfort. Repeated episodes still deserve attention because a cavity between the teeth may not be visible at home.
A tooth affected by decay may hurt only when exposed to something cold or sweet. Once the trigger is gone, the pain stops. The damaged tooth has not repaired itself simply because the child feels comfortable again.
Pain can also change as disease affects the pulp, the soft tissue inside a tooth. A deeply affected pulp may become inflamed and later lose vitality. Pain can then decrease even though infection remains. Tell the dentist about any earlier episodes of spontaneous pain or pain that woke your child at night.
These possibilities cannot be distinguished reliably at home. A disappearing toothache does not, by itself, prove that the pulp has died or that the tooth is healthy.
Does a baby tooth still need treatment
If a condition requiring care is diagnosed, the absence of pain does not remove that need. Baby teeth support chewing and help maintain space in the developing dental arch.
The dentist considers whether the tooth can be restored, the condition of the surrounding tissues and how close it is to natural shedding. Treatment may involve repairing a cavity, treating the pulp or root canals, or removing a tooth that cannot be safely retained. The history of pain, clinical examination and X-rays when indicated guide this decision.
When to seek urgent help
Arrange urgent dental care for swelling of the gum or face, pus, fever or significant pain when biting. Rapidly increasing swelling or difficulty breathing or swallowing requires emergency medical help. In Russia, call 103 or 112; elsewhere, use the local emergency number.
Even without these warning signs, arrange a dental appointment soon. Continue gentle brushing. Do not heat the cheek, place tablets against the gum or start leftover antibiotics. Antibiotics do not replace treatment of the source of a dental infection.
Frequently asked questions
Should we cancel the appointment if the pain has gone
Keep the appointment and explain when the pain occurred, what triggered it and how long it lasted.
Is a painless gum boil harmless
No. Drainage may reduce pressure and pain while the underlying infection persists. It needs dental assessment.
