Роль родителей на приёме у детского стоматолога | БЭБИ ДЕНТ

Parents set the emotional tone for a dental visit. Children notice adult anxiety, voice, and even well-meant phrases used to reassure them. Calm, predictable support helps the dentist build trust and complete the examination with less stress.
Before the visit
Describe the appointment in simple, neutral terms: the dentist will meet the child, look at the teeth, and explain the instruments. Avoid promising that nothing will hurt, sharing frightening personal stories, or using the dentist as a threat. For an introductory visit, choose a time when the child is rested and not hungry.
In the treatment room
Allow the dentist to speak directly to the child. Answer medical questions briefly, avoid interrupting explanations, and do not negotiate a reward for every small step. Parental presence is decided individually: it reassures some children, while others focus better when the adult takes a quieter role.
After the visit
Praise a specific effort, such as sitting in the chair, opening the mouth, or asking a question. Avoid comparisons with other children and labels such as “good” or “bad.” Even a short, calm introduction can become an important step toward long-term trust.
BabyDent in Penza offers adaptation visits for children who are new to dental care.
Important: Communication strategies should reflect the child’s age, previous experience, and individual response.
